It's a weighted composite of six dimensions: Performance (profit factor, win rate, average monthly P&L), Consistency (share of profitable months), Risk Management (max drawdown and risk band), Student Reviews (ratings from invited students, smoothed so a single review can't swing a profile), Student Outcomes (students referred through Mentorly), and Transparency (the onboarding status a Mentorly admin has given the mentor — a mentor cannot raise it themselves). A dimension we have no data for is left unscored and the remaining weights are rebalanced — we never fill a gap with a placeholder number.
No. There are zero paid placements, sponsored slots, or ad ranks. The leaderboard is determined exclusively by the algorithmic Mentorly Score. We don't sell ad space against rankings, that's the entire point.
Mentors upload raw CSV exports from their broker (TradingView, NinjaTrader, MT5, ThinkOrSwim, etc.). Our engine parses every trade and calculates 11 metrics — win rate, profit factor, max drawdown, monthly consistency and more. It drops rows it cannot read, rows dated in the future and exact duplicates, and flags any trade whose stated direction contradicts its stated prices. Those flags go to a human reviewer. To be clear about what this is: performance is self-reported and reviewed for internal consistency. Mentorly does not audit returns and does not verify them with your broker.
No. Everything is public: the full leaderboard, full mentor profiles and every mentor's performance stats. We only ask for your name and email when you're ready to apply to a specific mentor's offer.
Two streams: a flat monthly listing fee from mentors after they cross a milestone of referred students, and an affiliate commission when a student converts on a mentor's offer. Browsing is always free for students, and listing fees never affect rankings, the score is the score.
Initial application review is usually 24–48 hours. Once approved, CSV verification runs instantly on upload. You can be live on the marketplace within a week of applying.
Yes. Mentors who get reported for poor student outcomes, false claims, or refuse to upload updated trade history get suspended pending review. Quality control is enforced, that's what makes the verification meaningful.
